FAQs

How do I get started at Bonfire?

The great news is that the first steps are easy.  Click the link to schedule your initial consultation.  We will send you some simple intake forms.  Please print them, fill them out, and bring them with you to your consultation.  These forms will help guide your consultation with the doctor.  If you do not have a printer available, we will have printed forms available for you at the office.  Please just arrive 10 minutes early to fill them out.

What can I expect on my first visit?

The onboarding process at Bonfire is thorough.  So thorough that we have split it into two separate visits.

Day 1:  On your first visit, the doctor will review your completed paperwork to get a clear overview of your health history.  Then you will spend an hour one-on-one with the doctor reviewing your health history and your chief complaint.  The doctor will then perform an examination in which your neuromuscular & musculoskeletal systems will be evaluated.  During this time, we do the necessary detective work to get to the root of your problem.  The doctor will then perform a bio-structural exam, a postural analysis, and if necessary, you may receive digital x-rays.  This initial visit takes approximately 65 minutes.

Day 2:  After all of this information is reviewed, the doctor will share the findings (including relevant diagnoses) with you.  The doctor will also make recommendations for care.  If you decide to proceed with the recommendations for care, you will receive your first adjustment at this time.  This second visit is typically scheduled for the very next day and will take approximately 25 minutes.

Do you take insurance?

Bonfire is not a participating provider in any insurance plans.  However, many practice members choose to pay for chiropractic care using their Flexible Healthcare Spending Accounts (FSA or HSA).  When this payment method is used, the per-adjustment fee is very similar to that of a copay.

Why do I need to get adjusted regularly?

The simple answer is that modern life is unnaturally stressful.  Working long hours at a computer, slips & falls, managing family issues, managing finances, traffic, politics, social media, etc… all of this means that humans are under more stress than ever.  Over time that stress leads to fatigue, aches & pains, and eventually breakdown & more serious degenerative disease.

Most of the stressors in your life you’re exposed to on a daily basis.  Because all of that stress takes a toll on your health, you need a strategy to help reconcile the detrimental effects of all that stress.  That is what regular brain-based chiropractic care does.

You don’t go to the gym once a month and expect that you’ll get stronger, fitter, and leaner.  You know that in order to make gains you need to train regularly.  You don’t brush your teeth once a month and expect that your oral health will flourish.  You know that to prevent cavities and gum disease you need to brush daily.

In order to cultivate better health – to feel better, to function better, to perform better – you need to be adjusted regularly.   We do our best work for our practice members over time.

Do you adjust kids?

“It is easier to build a strong child than it is to mend a broken man.”
-Fredrick Douglass

Setting our young ones up for a healthy & successful life is a core value.  Here in the US, so many health problems are related to our lifestyles.  Families that are healthy generation after generation have proven habits, behaviors, and practices that build health.  For this reason, Bonfire encourages entire families to be under regular care.  And we want to make that easy for your family.  For all of 2022, we’re offering free consultations & chiropractic checkups for the kids in your family.  If your child is under 18, it’ll be our pleasure to check them and make recommendations for their care.

Do you adjust pregnant moms?

We have had the distinct pleasure of helping dozens of mothers have healthy, natural, and (relatively) comfortable pregnancies.  We use the specialized Webster Technique to help our moms & babies adapt to the physical & mental demands of pregnancy.

What is chiropractic care and why does it work?

This is a question we get in the practice all of the time.  The best way to find out why chiropractic care is an essential component of the wellness lifestyle is to come to our monthly educational workshop: “Better Results Faster”.  You can call or text the office at 603.380.5164 to find out when the next workshop is scheduled.  The workshops are complimentary & everyone is welcome.  It’s one of the ways we’re trying to make the Seacoast community a healthier place.
